Skip to content link – is functional on all webpages to allow keyboard users to bypass repeated sections like navigation panes.

Live map – is exempted from accessibility requirements. The live map is also third-party content that is not funded by, developed, or controlled by Cork County Alerts, but work is in progress to resolve as many issues related to this area as feasibly possible. Information in the live map is available on the website in text.

Preparation of this Accessibility Statement

The Statement was prepared by IA Labs where IA Labs performed a blend of manual and automated accessibility tests using multiple platforms like Windows (JAWS, NVDA), Mac (VoiceOver), iOS (VoiceOver) and Android (TalkBack) and their native accessibility tools. A detailed issue log was created to measure against WCAG 2.1 standards. These issues were presented to the development team who are amending these issues and bringing the website in to WCAG 2.1 AA compliance.

County Cork Alerts is now offering bathing water quality alerts for the 26 beaches in the county which are part of our bathing water monitoring program. 14 of these are Identified Bathing Waters, 10 of which are Blue Flag beaches. In addition to these there are 13 Green Coast Flag Beaches. These alerts include bathing water quality results which are generally provided fortnightly during the summer bathing season and also any bathing restrictions if and when they are notified. The alerts are provided from data supplied by the EPA of monitoring carried out by the Council.

If you swim or use any of these beaches, then you can subscribe to get updates throughout the Summer months as new results are published by the EPA. Each time the EPA publishes new results, you will receive an email from Co. Cork Alerts.
