TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS
Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council will close the following road for the period and reason specified below:
Road Subject of Closure
R630-6 Whitegate Road, Ballinacurra, Midleton, Co. Cork – (at Loughatalia and Rosehill, Midleton).
Period of Closure
From 09.00hrs on Wednesday 6th April 2022 to 17.00hrs on Friday 8th April 2022
(Daily Closure)
Reason for Closure
To facilitate Road Resurfacing from Loughatalia, Midleton to Rosehill, Ballinacurra.
Alternative Routes
Northbound traffic to Midleton shall divert Eastwards at Bawnard Crossroads onto the L-3629 (Downey’s Road), then turning left onto the R629 at Bowles gate and onward to Ballinacurra Village to rejoin with the R630 at Ballinacurra grotto.
Southbound traffic to Saleen/Rostellan/Aghada/ Whitegate areas shall divert onto the R629 at Ballinacurra grotto and continue to Cloyne Village turning right at Cloyne Cross onto the R631 and continuing onward to rejoin the R630 at Whitewell Cross.
Right turns onto Downey’s Road from the R629 will be restricted to local access only to Bawnard and East Ferry areas.
Local access will be maintained to the Loughatalia and Rosehill areas throughout the duration of the Road Closure.
