ROADS ACT, 1993

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council will close the following roads for the period and reason specified below:-

Roads Subject of Closure

Catherine St., North Main St. to O'Neil Crowley St., The Mall, Strand St., Friar St.,

Windmill Hill (Local Access), R634/Upper Strand Rd., far to New Line and R908 Front

Strand Rd junction, R633 - Beanfield Rd Junction to R634 Junction

Period of Closure

From 07.30hrs to 14.00hrs (Daily Closure) on Sunday 9^th August 2026.

Reason for Closure

To facilitate road race.

Alternative Routes

Traffic travelling East Bound on the R634, take left at Summerfield Cross, continue on the New Line road L3810 until Stop sign, turn right which brings you to base of Cork Hill. Detour route is applicable in reverse direction. Traffic in town centre is permitted West Bound in One Way System up to O'Neill Crowley Street, where you can turn right up onto North Main Street by the Post Office, access to this area of the town is not affected by the Road Closure for traffic.

Local Access will not be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.
