Road Closure - R587 Demense, Derreens and Derrylahan, Dunmanway from Thursday 9th to Thursday 30th July 2026 to facilitate Road Restoration Improvement Works

ROADS ACT, 1993

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council will close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Closure

R587- 196 (Part) – in the townlands of Demense, Derreens and Derrylahan, Dunmanway, Co. Cork.

Period of Closure

From 08:00hrs to 20:0hrs (Daily Closure) from Thursday 9^th July 2026 to Thursday 30^th July 2026. (Weather permitting – works will take approximately 4 days).

Reason for Closure

To facilitate Road Restoration Improvement Works on the R587 – Road Recycling and Surface dressing.

Alternative Routes

Traffic travel east along the R586 to Enniskeane Village to the R588 junction. Go left at the junction north along the R588 to Coppeen Village /Junction. Go left on the R585 and proceed east along the R585 /R587 to Shanlaragh Junction. Head south along the R587 to the works to Inchicuhan Junction (north Ardcahan Bridge) end of diversion

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Ní mór don trácht taisteal i dtreo an oirthir feadh an R586 go dtí Sráidbhaile Inis Céin chomh fada le hacomhal an R588. Téigh ar chlé ag an acomhal ó thuaidh feadh an R588 go dtí Sráidbhaile/Acomhal an Chaipín. Téigh ar chlé ar an R585 agus lean ar aghaidh ag dul soir feadh an R585/R587 chomh fada le hAcomhal Sheanláraigh. Téigh ó dheas feadh an R587 chomh fada leis na hoibreacha atá ann ag Acomhal Inse na nUan (Droichead Ard Ceachan thuaidh), áit a dtiocfaidh deireadh leis an atreorú.
