Road Closure - L3418 Bawnmore Cross to Ballinagree, Macroom from Saturday 11th to Sunday 12th July 2026 to facilitate National Road Bowling Championships

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council will close the following road for the period and reason specified below:-

L-3418 Bawnmore Cross to Ballinagree, Macroom, Co Cork

Period of Closure

From 09:00hrs to 18.00hrs (Daily Closure) on Saturday, 11^th July, 2026 to Sunday, 12^th July, 2026

Reason for Closure

To facilitate National Road Bowling Championships

Alternative Routes

Traffic from Macroom travelling North on the L-3418 to Rylane should divert at Bawnmore Crossroads by turning left onto the L-7450 (sign for Muinefliuch National School). At Moanflugh Crossroads turn right onto the L-7444. Take the next right onto the L-7445 and continue until the junction with the L-3419 at Maulnahorna Cross. Turn left onto the L-3419 and follow the road to Kerryman's Table Crossroads. At the junction turn right onto the L-1123 and follow the road to Rylane. Continue to destination.

Traffic from Rylane travelling on the L-3418 towards Macroom should divert by turning left onto the L-3426 and then turn right onto the L-7467. Follow the road until Lacknahaghny Crossroads. Then continue straight onto the L-7471. At Derryroe Cross turn right into the L-7472 and follow the road to Bawnmore Cross. Continue to destination.

Traffic from Coachford travelling on the L-3419 to Millstreet should divert at Lacknahaghny Crossroads by turning left onto the L-7471. At Derryroe Cross turn right into the L-7472 and follow the road to Bawnmore Cross. At the junction turn right onto the L-3418 and then turn left onto the L-7450 (sign for Muinefliuch National School). At Moanflugh Crossroads turn left onto the L-7444 and follow the road until the junction with the R-582. Turn right onto the R-582 and continue to Millstreet.

Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.
