Road Closure - R586 Ilen Bridge, Knockane, Drimoleague from Monday 22nd to Saturday 27th June 2026 to facilitate Installation of a cattle underpass.

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council will close the following road for the period and reason specified below:-

R-586, Ilen Bridge, Drimoleague, Knockane, Drimoleague, Co. Cork

Period of Closure

From 00.00hrs Monday, 22^nd June, 2026 to 24:00hrs on Saturday, 27^th June 2026 (24hr Closure)

Reason for Closure

To facilitate Installation of a cattle underpass.

Alternative Routes

For traffic travelling West: Turn left in Drimoleague onto the R593 (Skibbereen Road). Proceed for 6km to the junction with the R594 (at Derreeny). Turn right onto the R594. Proceed for 8km to the junction with the R586.

For traffic travelling East: Turn right at the junction of the R586 and the R584 (at Aughaville) taking the Skibbereen Road. Proceed for 8km to the junction of the R584 and the R583 (at Derreeny). Turn left onto the R583. Proceed for 6km to the junction of the R583 and the R584 (in Drimoleague).

Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Lean ar aghaidh ar feadh 6km chomh fada leis an acomhal atá ann idir an R583 agus an R584 (i nDrom Dhá Liag).
