Road Closure - M8 motorway Northbound from Jtn 14 to 11 from Monday 24th August to Tuesday 1st September 2026 (8pm -6am) to facilitate road resurfacing works.

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council will close the following road for the period and reason specified below:-

Road Subject of Closure

1. M8 Motorway Northbound between Junction 13 and Junction 14, County Cork;

2. M8 Motorway Northbound between Junction 12 and Junction 13, County Cork;

3. M8 Motorway Northbound between Junction 11 and Junction 12, County Cork.

Period of Closure

1. From 20:00hrs to 06.00hrs (Nightly Closure) on Monday, 24^th August, 2026 to Tuesday, 25^th August, 2026;

2. From 20:00hrs to 06.00hrs (Nightly Closure) on Tuesday, 25^th August, 2026 to Wednesday, 26^th August 2026;

3. From 20:00hrs to 06.00hrs (Nightly Closure) on Friday, 28^th August, 2026 to Saturday, 29^th August, 2026 & From 20:00hrs to 06.00hrs on Monday, 31^st August, 2026 to Tuesday, 1^st September, 2026.

Reason for Closure

To plane and remove damaged road surfaces in places and to repave the surface to standard.

Alternative Routes

1. Please exit the M8 onto the R639;

2. Please exit the M8 onto the R639;

3. Please exit the M8 onto the R639.

Local Access will not be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.
