Temporary Closing of Public Road # N72, between Ballymaquirk Roundabout to Junction with R576 at Kippagh South / Date , Time:- 06-07 to 09-07, from 19:00-07:00

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROAD

Road to be Closed: - N72 National Secondary Road between Ballymaquirk Roundabout (N72/R579 Junction) on the western side and the N72/R576 Junction at Kippagh South on the eastern approach.

Alternative Routes: - Westbound traffic will be diverted right at the N72/R576 Junction onto the R576. They will continue on the R576 for 7km until reaching Kanturk. At the roundabout, drivers should take the first exit, following signage for the R579. Traffic will then remain on the R579 for 5km before arriving at Ballymaquirk Roundabout, where they can take the third exit to rejoin the N72 and continue westbound.

Eastbound traffic will be diverted left at Ballymaquirk Roundabout onto the R579. They will continue along the R579 for 5km until they reach Kanturk. At the roundabout, drivers should take the second exit, following signage for the R576. Traffic will then remain on the R576 for 7km until they reach the N72/R576 Junction, where they can turn left to rejoin the N72 and continue eastbound.

Note:- Site Works to be completed in vicinity of Leader's Bridge, Ballymaquirk, (on the eastern side of Ballymaquirk Roundabout). No through Traffic during Road Closure operation. Local Access will be maintained and permitted from eastern side of Road Closure to eastern side of Leader's Bridge only.

Dates & Times: - Monday 06th July to Thursday 09th July, between 19:00 to 07:00 (or as deemed earlier pending completion of Site Works).

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROAD – N72 BALLYMAQUIRK EAST PAVEMENT STRENGTHENING SCHEME – N72 National Secondary Road between Ballymaquirk Roundabout (N72/R579 Junction) on the western side and the N72/R576 Junction at Kippagh South on the eastern approach.

Notice is hereby given that Cork County Council will, pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993, Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, temporarily close the public road as detailed below for the duration specified. The closure is necessary to facilitate the removal of failed sections of pavement, subsequent strengthening of these sections and resurfacing with bituminous macadam. Works also include site clearance, drainage works, road markings and traffic management.

Road to be Closed:

A section of the N72 National Secondary Road between Ballymaquirk Roundabout (N72/R579 Junction) on the western side and the N72/R576 Junction at Kippagh South on the eastern approach.

Dates of Closure:

From Monday 29^th June 2026 to Friday 17^th July 2026. Nighttime Closure Only.

19:00hrs to 07:00hrs Monday Night to Friday Night each week.
