Road Closure - L60231 , L6023 Carhoon East, Bandon from Monday 17th April to Friday 19th May 2023 to facilitate watermain construction.

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS
Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council will close the following roads for the period and reason specified below:
Roads Subject of Closure
L-60231-0 (Part), & L6023-0(Part), Carhoon East, Bandon, Co. Cork.
Phase I – L-60231-0 (Part) from the Water Treatment Plant southwards to the junction of the L-6023-0.
Phase II – L-6023-0(Part) from the junction with L-60231-0 (southwards) to the junction L-6022-0.
Phase III – L-6023-0(Part) from the junction with L-6022-0 (southwards) to the junction with the R586 at Carhoon House Cross.
Works shall proceed in a single phased basis only.
Period of Closure
From 08:00hrs on Monday 17th of April 2023 to 18:00hrs on Friday 19th of May 2023. (24hr Closure).
Reason for Closure
To facilitate watermain construction.
Alternative Routes
During Phase I – no diversion in place, necessary access to be allowed for.
During Phase II – traffic intending to access the L-6023-0 shall divert west along the L-6022-0, then turn right onto L-2011-55, continue onto L-2011-79, turn right onto L-6023-0 at Tinkers Cross, follow the road to approach the closed road from the opposite side.
During Phase III – traffic intending to access the L-6023-0 at Carhoon House Cross, shall divert east along the R586-25 & R586-12 to Emmet Row – Bandon, at Kilbrogan Hill junction turn left onto R589-0, then turn left onto Convent Hill (L-2011-127), continue onto L-2011-97, at Tinkers Cross turn left onto L-6023-0, turn left at the next junction to approach the road closure from the opposite side.
The stated diversions are applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure where possible.
